

D. M. Spratley (she/her) is a poet, fiction and nonfiction writer, and consultant.
D. M. is a third-generation poet. Her writing has appeared in Poetry, 32 Poems, Shenandoah, and the Lambda Literary Poetry Spotlight. She has received awards and honors from Princeton University, Sundress Publications, Rattle, and the North Carolina Arts Council.
Founder and CEO of Maypop Creativity Consulting and Quad Goals Skate Fitness, D. M. provides people and organizations with racial equity consulting, writing and creativity coaching, team-building retreats, writing and creativity workshops, and skate fitness classes.
A '14-'16 William C. Friday Fellow for Human Relations and a '19-'20 North Carolina Arts Council Fellow, D. M. believes in the power of creativity, communication, and play to unlock joy, build community, increase empathy, and spark change.
Since 2009, D. M. has skated and coached with Star City Roller Girls, Carolina Roller Derby, Bull City Roller Derby, and Team North Carolina.
